Why cant I change my username and boatname with the edit profile feature?

Username is one of two unique identifiers of the skippers on VSK Match (the other is your ID number). Username is only used for login purposes and to prevent accidentially changing your username into something you would forget, the system has that restriction. Boatname is how the other skipper recognize you - your VSK Match identity. If you change it people would loose track of you ie. for submitting victory etc. If you have a reason for changing your username or boatname (ie. typo when creating profile) contact an administrator.

To make sure you entered your emailadress correct the system will send you an email with an activation link. You NEED to press this link before you can log into the site. Your profile will NOT show on the skippers list untill its activated (your profile will not show on the ranking untill you have raced).

The system is based on sessions. Whenever administrators or programmers change something in the core of the system all session are reset. This will result in all users being logged out. At the moment theres nothing to be done about that... Users will have to re-login. Some errors on the site will cause the system to reset itself. This also means re-login.

Your VSK Match profile does not work for the forum. You will have to make a seperate profile for the forum. We strongly recommend you use the same login information for the forum as you used when creating VSK Match profile (forum profiles also need to be activated like VSK Match profiles).

Some of you might expirience problems when submitting results. The system makes a timeout and you get an errormessage on the screen... Dont worry though! The results are always save BEFORE mails are sent. The only problem is that you opponent wont receive the loss-notification mail and is therefor not able to cancel the match if necessary. If you need to cancel anyway please contact me and we will sort it out 'manually'. There is currently no solution for the problem. However, the problem might be that some ISP's are blocking mail with specific headers (a header is a couple of codelines in the top of the mail describing what kind of service sent the mail etc.) VSK Match is using Dimacs JMail system... a system which easily can be used as a spamrobot. This is probably the reason why some ISP's decided to block all mails from systems like Jmail. We suggest you sign up for a hotmail address or other free mailservices.

You need to post questions about rules in our forums. Webmaster, administrators nor editors have the ability or time to answer these questions. Posting on the forum will expose your question to a much bigger group of people... And people who have the same questions as you will be able to find an answer right away.

Why cant I host a game when Im behind a firewall or NAT?

If you have a software or hardware firewall you will need to allow traffic on port xxxx in order to host a game. If youre behind NAT (ie. ADSL with router) you need to forward traffic on port xxxx from your WAN IP to your LAN IP. if your WAN IP is 217.215.217.215 and your LAN IP is 192.168.0.2, then you need to forward traffic on port xxxx from 217.215.217.215 to 192.168.0.2 in order to host a game. Please contact you network administrator or consult manual/setup-guide for your router to make these changes. You can also look here.

Unlike courses and avatars, skins are NOT transferred when you connect to a game. Skins need to be downloaded and installed manually. On VSK Match a link will appear in a skippers profile when he/she has a custom skin available. You need to download this file (.zip) and extract it into ..\Vsk3\GameData\Skins\Boats\Acc\ in order to see the skins.

How do I make my own skin?

Consult forums on the club sites or here on VSK Match... Theres a lot of guides and tools around to help you. We cannot provide our version of a guide... yet ;)

How do I make my own avatar?

Same as above... for now ;)
